Carrie Underwood suffers from panic attacks Country singer Carrie Underwood has put her panic attack problems behind her. The newlywed may currently be on top of the world after her recent marriage to hockey player Mike Fisher, 30, but she admits that it has not always been that way.

The 27-year-old suffered from panic attacks in high school that were triggered when she was in close proximity to other people. She told WebMD the Magazine: “I’m a big personal space person, you know, if you go to the restroom, you use the stall that’s not near anybody or if you’re in the gym, you go to the treadmill where there’s space in between you. ”

And it seemed like in crowded situations like that, people would just completely violate your personal space.” Underwood added: “So, whenever I would be in stores and there would be people touching me and kids running around, I couldn’t take it and I’d have to leave.”

Although Carrie has put the stress problem to rest, she revealed that she found it hard to adjust to dealing with big crowds after she made it big on American Idol in 2005. She said: “It just took me a minute to be able to figure that out and to be able to allow people into my space.”
