Sean Penn ups his fight against Wyclef Jean’s Haitian presidential bid Sean Penn took his crusade against Wyclef Jean’s run for the Haitian presidency to the Huffington Post Wednesday.

Jean is a member of the ‘90s hit R&B group The Fugees. He has spent most of his life in the United States.

Penn, who has been part of the cleanup effort in Haiti following the earthquake, isn’t a fan of Jean’s as he didn’t spend time in the country during its environmental turmoil.

Said Penn, “So many of us on the ground wondered where he was when that kind of attention was so necessary and absent, and why he was NOT helping to keep this desperate situation in the news.” Jean has blasted back at Penn saying that the actor’s aid was confined to one set area.

Penn has slammed further criticism by Jean’s camp against him:

“When New York press agents circle wagons of ignorance and sell as deep insight the advertisement of that which charms them about a client, the lives and needs of the Haitian people are sidelined.”

“These elections are crucial, and I have no part in them,” Penn wrote. “Neither should Mr. Jean.”

I remember hearing about Wyclef doing Charity work way before Sean Penn.
How does Sean Penn explain this factor? Please clear this up? Or is his a case of “Sour Grapes?”
