“Forbidden Journey” No Longer Forbidden for Determined Harry Potter Fan

HollywoodNews.com: Upon opening earlier this summer, one of the problems that surfaced for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in Orlando was the apparent size restrictions many fans faced when trying to experience the “The Forbidden Journey” ride, as the ride did not accomodate some plus-sized riders. One fan took his inability to experience the ride and turned it into a mission to lose weight so that he could experience what many WWoHP visitors – including myself – as the highlight of the park.

Banks Lee and the Three Clicks, a blog in which the fan – one Mr. Banks Lee – chronicles his determination to lose weight and document it for other fans to view, was recently updated with the following blog post: “I DID IT!!!” Lee lost a total of 12 pounds since he began his personal crusade, and has proudly posted photos of himself in the ride in the post.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has quickly reached a record number of visitors, hitting the one million rider mark earlier this month. “The Forbidden” Journey ride has been named the Best New Attraction by Theme Park Insider, and has been consistently raved about by fans and critics alike.

That’s wonderful! I love that the size restrictions inspired him to lose weight instead of sending him on a tirade cussing out park workers and yelling discrimination. I hope others follow suit! Anything to inspire someone to lose weight is a good thing!

Banks actually lost about 25 pounds, not 12.

i think for people to get upset about a ride restriction is really pathetic.so a certain height or weight cant be on the ride.come on.maybe down the road they will redo the ride seats.stop complaining.people its just a theme park ride.
