John Cusack flies with ‘The Raven’ Having time warped earlier in the year in “Hot Tub Time Machine,” John Cusack is transporting himself to another era, circa the late 1800s.

Cusack will play the famed horror-thriller author Edgar Allen Poe in the Intrepid Pictures and FilmNation production of “The Raven.”

As has been the vogue with many celebrities of late, Cusack announced the news via Twitter.

“V for Vendetta” James McTeigue is helming and cameras will roll in late fall in Serbia.

“The Raven” was Poe’s most famed work published in 1845. Poe died four years after. However, the film version will focus on the author’s final days pursuing a serial killer around Baltimore – a murderer who is obsessed with Poe’s work. Poe teams up with a detective to track down the killer.

Cusack’s upcoming features include the period drama mystery “Shanghai” and the crime thriller “The Factory.”

Variety reported the news.
