Lady Gaga explains why she wore a meat dress at the VMAs Lady Gaga first stirred some controversy when she appeared on the cover of ‘Vogue Hommes Japan’ covered in meat, but now she has brought that cover to life.

Gaga accepted her final VMA in a meat dress, but is trying to explain that it isn’t as questionable as some may think, reports Just Jared. “[I]f we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights pretty soon, we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on own bones,” Gaga said as she revealed that she is not quite ready to be a piece of meat.

One thing she did want to clear up about the outfit was that it was not intended to offend vegans or vegetarians: “I am the most judgement-free human being on the earth.”
