Helena Bonham Carter, Sam Rockwell, Mia Wasikowska, and Andrew Garfield to be honored at the Hollywood Awards® Gala Ceremony

HollywoodNews.com: The 14th Annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Awards, presented by Starz, are pleased to announce honorees who will be recognized for their achievements at the festival’s Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony.

Academy Award-nominated actress Helena Bonham Carter will receive the “Hollywood Supporting Actress Award,” actor Sam Rockwell will be honored with the ” Hollywood Supporting Actor Award, ” actress Mia Wasikowska will receive the ” Hollywood Breakthrough Actress Award, ” and actor Andrew Garfield will be recognized with the ” Hollywood Breakthrough Actor Award. ”

The announcement was made today by Carlos de Abreu, Founder of the Hollywood Awards Gala.

“These honorees have been steadily laying the groundwork of choice projects upon which to build their Hollywood careers, and this is their year to really stand out,” said Mr. de Abreu.

The gala ceremony will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on October 25, 2010.

An actress of great versatility, Helena Bonham Carter was nominated for an Academy Award in 1998 for her work on ” The Wings of the Dove.” She recently completed production on ” The King’s Speech, “by director Tom Hooper , as well as the highly anticipated ” Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.” Helena Bonham Carter’s other credits include Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” Tim Burton’s “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix ” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Big Fish,” and “Fight Club.”

Sam Rockwell was recently seen in Jon Favreau’s “Iron Man 2,” also starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Don Cheadle, and “Everybody’s Fine” co-starring Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, and Kate Beckinsale. Rockwell will be seen in the upcoming drama “Conviction” co-starring Hilary Swank. Some of his other credits include “Moon” co-starring Kevin Spacey, Ron Howard’s “Frost/Nixon,” “Choke,” “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” also starring Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck, “The Green Mile,” and Ridley Scott’s “Matchstick Men.”

Mia Wasikowska starred as the title character in Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” from Walt Disney Pictures, which also stars Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Anne Hathaway, as well as Lisa Cholodenko’s “The Kids Are All Right” alongside Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, and Mark Ruffalo. She will next be starring in Gus Van Sant’s “Restless” in addition to Cary Fukunaga’s “Jane Eyre” opposite Sally Hawkins, Judi Dench, and Michael Fassbender. Previous film credits include her role as Elinor Smith in the feature film “Amelia” and the film “Defiance” with Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber, and Jamie Bell. She was also a regular on HBO’s “In Treatment” as Sophie.

Andrew Garfield stars in “Never Let Me Go,” the critically acclaimed film directed by Mark Romanek co-starring Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley. He also stars in David Fincher’s highly anticipated film “The Social Network” alongside Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake, which follows the story of the founders of the social-networking website, Facebook. Garfield will also be playing Peter Parker in the upcoming remake of “Spiderman,” set to hit theaters in 2012. His other credits include Robert Redford’s “Lions for Lambs” alongside Meryl Streep and Tom Cruise, Terry Gilliam’s ” The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,” and John Crowley’s “Boy A.”

The festival and awards will mark their return on October 20 for a week long series of screenings, competitions and awards. The Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on October 25, 2010.
