Carrie Fisher used cocaine during Hoth prod’n in ‘Empire Strikes Back’ Even though Carrie Fisher played Princess Leia in the “Star Wars” series, she wasn’t that regal on the set of 1980’s “The Empire Strikes Back.”

Fisher recently confessed to AAP that she used cocaine during the production.

“We did cocaine on the set of Empire, in the ice planet,” she stated. “I didn’t even like coke that much, it was just a case of getting on whatever train I needed to take to get high.”

Fisher’s substance abuse problems are no secret. In fact, her reckless use of drugs was chronicled in the 1984 Bob Woodward book “Wired,” which was a biography on comedian John Belushi.

Fisher attributes Belushi’s 1982 death from drug overdose as an eye-opener. It was then that she realized she had a problem. The actress was romantically involved with her “Blues Brothers” co-star and Belushi comedy partner Dan Aykroyd.

“Slowly I realized I was doing a bit more drugs than other people and losing my choice in the matter,” she said. “If I’d been addicted to booze I’d be dead now, because you just go out and get it.

“It’s always been my responsibility… If it was Hollywood [to blame], then we’d all be dope addicts.”
