“Harry Potter” Actress Goes from Muggle to Witch for “True Blood” Season 4

By Hanako M. Ricks

HollywoodNews.com: New casting news for the fourth season of the popular HBO series “True Blood” has been announced, and Harry Potter fans will see a familiar face.

Fiona Shaw, who has portrayed Harry Potter’s very un-magical Aunt Petunia throughout the franchise, has been added to the cast for season four. Her character, Marnie, is described as “a mousy, timid and secretly self loathing storefront medium and palm reader who is taken over by the spirit of a powerful witch.” Fans of the series were introduced to a few witches during the latter part of Season 3, and with this casting it stands to believe that they will play an integral role in the happenings in Bon Temps for season four.

“True Blood” is expected to return to the HBO lineup in summer 2011. Shaw will appear in the next installment of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, when it opens in theaters next Friday.

Minor fan-fail, there. Petunia Dursley isn’t a muggle. She’s a Squib. Oh well.

Actually, Petunia is a Muggle. Her parents were non-magic folk who happened to produce a witch in one of their offspring (Lily). Squibs are born into magical families but do not wield any magic themselves. Since the Evans were non-magical, that would make Petunia a Muggle, not a Squib.
