Adam Lambert named second “most Googled gay” Adam Lambert is pretty popular, but he ended up losing out on one title this year that may seem kind of surprising.

Lambert came in second place on the 2010 list of the “Most Googled Gays” done by, states Gayapolis. Lambert was beat out by the often controversial Perez Hilton.

In this popularity contest, Lambert and Hilton also beat out ‘Glee’ star Chris Colfer, Ricky Martin and Neil Patrick Harris.

Do you think Adam Lambert should have won the title?

I hope Adam’s next cd is EPIC and we can drop the “openly gay” , “favourite gay” etc……
and simply refer to him as Adam Lambert International Superstar.
We all know how successful his world tour was and his fan base has grown by leaps and bounds.
Would love to seem him perform on the Grammys but I suppose he can’t kiss Tommy this time or he will set the whole country on fire again. Kidding!!

Tell you what! Take out all the times Perez mentioned Adam’s name about something and then all the peeps who googled Perez about what he said about Adam I think you’ll find that Adam really beat his ass! LOL!!!

I would be much happier if Adam won the most goggled entertainer or singer or sexiest or most wonderful, etc. Get rid of the gay thing, already, it’s getting old. In fact, you would show your class if you didn’t report this at all.

I’m sure Adam Lambert is googled for his music and for the amazing and talented artist he is; not for the fact that he’s gay. Who cares if he or anyone else is gay, who cares about anyones sexual preference?

@Roni, man, you hit the nail on the head with your post. I hereby declare that Adam beat his

Can’t stand Perez Hilton. He’s just a gossiper that knows how to spread false rumors.

There are few people in the world who love Adam more than me. I’ve traveled thousands of miles to see him play numerous times live, I’ve met him and I have his autograph tattooed on me. I also don’t always love when he is referred to as the openly gay singer, however, the list was originally complied by the Advocate. The Advocate is a magazine that showcases LGBT culture and highlights success stories from the community. They were only doing that. If they had made a list of the most Googled people – sexual orientation aside – neither Adam nor Perez would make the list, this article would not have been written and there would have been one less trigger for a mental picture of Adam today – that would’ve been a damn shame!

I read that Adam s the 7th most googled person this year. We don’t need to know that he is gay, only that he is phenominal and that some people are starting to find this out besides just his diehard fans.

The Advocate[dot]com site can assign names and it can be reprinted repeatedly, but the fact is that in 2010, Adam Lambert was googled more than the “named” #1, Perez Hilton. It’s not subjective, it’s just a statistic that can be found on Google Insight.

@adamfan, you are correct. Adam was the 7th most googled celebrity internationally. The Advocate based their ranking based only on US numbers and left out Adam’s huge international fan base. Perez only beat Adam in the US because Perez posted a controversial crotch shot of Miley Cyrus on his website of the same name and Google Insights shows a huge number of the searches for his name were looking for that pic. If you compare all searches, Adam beat Perez by about 20%.

I agree with Roni. If Perez did not mention Adam, he would have come in 2nd and Adam would have come in first. Perez won off of Adam’s back.

And I also agree with all the other posters here. The WHOLE world knows Adam is gay. Big f’n do-whatee. I wish the media would stop putting a label on him, on all the gay people for that matter. I could give a crap less about his sexuality and I’m pretty sure the whole world feels the same. It’s getting old.

Maybe the Hollywood New can lead the way.

The day will come when Adam Lambert is the most Googled celebrity based on his amazing vocals and his star power~~He is my Most Googled Everything! Amazing man!!!

One thing I respect about Adam Lambert is that he has never exploited the gay community or his open status as a gay man to get press, respect, or credibility (some other people on this list, not so much). I think it is completely crass to create a list of ‘most Googled gays’. Is there a list for straights? For lesbians? For transexuals? Should we start dividing people by race as well? I don’t believe this is at all fair, seeing as he has never used his sexuality as a tagline in his art. The media should start doing the same. Especially because others on the list have basically achieved fame mostly through being gay, so the least Adam has earned is the right to not be identified as so (Chris Colfer? His character on Glee this season has been nothing but a bad stereotype and a sob story.)
