Is Will Arnett joining ‘The Office’ cast? “Office” creator and Hollywood Foreign Press Association enemy Ricky Gervais offered his suggestions today as to which comedians should join the popular NBC sitcom once star Steve Carell makes his departure at the end of this season.

At the top of Gervais’ list?: Will Arnett.

According to The Wrap, the British comedian wrote on his blog: “Had a little meeting with NBC about various things and recommended Will Arnett for a regular in The Office. Thoughts? I think he’s amazing.”

Arnett is no stranger to TV sitcom, having played the major role as Gob Bluth on cult favorite Arrested Development, which garnered Arnett’s egomaniac comedic flare much acclaim. More recently, Arnett had a reoccuring role as Alec Baldwin’s nemesis on 30 Rock and starred in the unfortunately canceled sitcom, Running Wild.

Do you think Arnett would be a good comedic fit for The Office?

I think Will Arnett would be a great addition to The Office. I think he has a sense of humor that would refresh the show and take it to places it hasn’t been before.
