Adam Lambert admits to not watching new ‘American Idol’ Adam Lambert may have come in second on ‘American Idol,’ but that doesn’t mean that he tunes into every episode of the new season.

When Lambert appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, he revealed that he has yet to watch this year, states TooFab. However, that doesn’t mean he won’t watch at all as he also commented that he usually doesn’t tune in until the top twelve.

Lambert also revealed that he is a fan of Steven Tyler, but will have a hard time not seeing DeGeneres as a judge: “I’m going to miss you. I don’t know how I feel about that.”

What do you think about the new judges?

This isn’t new news. He tells us every year when the media asks if he’s watched American Idol that he doesn’t watch until they get down to the top 12 because he doesn’t like to see people get humiliated by the judges.

The early shows are hard to watch some times, I feel bad for some of the people who get turned away. Having said that I liked the show this year, love S. Tyler and J-Lo (refreshing changes, have always liked Randy. And.. the last contestant in San Fran, a young husband and father who has overcome so much adversity already for one so young was ablsolutely out of this world fantastic. He is the first one in two years, in my humble opinion, who has come even remotely close in talent level to Adam Lambert.

Duh Adam told them the same thing last year. He doesn’t like to watch the auditions he likes the competition. I don’t understand why this is even news. I also don’t understand why, whenever a former Idol contestant or judge is interviewed in any capacity, no matter what the reason or occasion they are always asked if they are watching Idol and what they think about the show.

Being an Idol junkie myself and forever grateful to the show for bring Adam to us, I am always interested in it (even though I don’t plan on voting ever again) but really the former contestants and judges are not required to watch American Idol. The title of your article saying Adam “admits” he’s not watching Idol implies that it’s something he’s supposed to be doing…ummm he’s a grammy-nominated recording artist now, he’s a little busy but he has said (several times now) that he will watch the show once the top 12 starts…so just calm down OK? LOL.
