‘American Idol’ down in ratings, still on top

HollywoodNews.com: In the second week of ‘American Idol’ finalists performing, the ratings dropped for the show, but they did maintain their spot on top.

In comparison to last week’s show, ‘Idol’ allegedly had less viewers, states HitFix. However, the show still beat out other major programs last night.

With the key age group of 18-49, FOX posted a 7.4 rating compared to 3.1 for CBS and 1.5 for ABC.

Do you think ‘American Idol’ will be able to keep a hold on their audience?

If the contestants don’t start showing the audience something unique about their performances then no. Everyone keeps saying that this is the best season for talent on AI. For me, none of them are exciting. Some seem to think James Durbin is exciting but I disagree. Yes, he is energenic, but thats it – he acts like an overgrown, cocky kid. His vocals are inconsistant and high notes shrill. None so far has shown themselves to be consistant, hopefully, someone will come to top of the group and show us something special.
