Kristen Stewart described as an “outsider” by director Kristen Stewart seems to march to the beat of her own drum and her director for the cast’s boot camp for ‘On the Road’ seems to agree.

Gerald Nicosia seems to think that Stewart and her castmates in the film are somewhat like outsiders, states The New York Times. “They’re all very unconventional in their own lives,” Nicosia said about Stewart, Garrett Hedlund and others after he worked to prepare them for the film.

“If you’re an outsider, you understand what counterculture is about,” Nicosia said about the actors being able to connect to their characters in the way he was hoping.
