Joaquin Phoenix may exit retirement for controversial project Joaquin Phoenix seemed to have retired during the time when ‘I’m Still Here’ came out, but it is unclear if that was legit. Now, he may be back to work very soon.

It is rumored that Phoenix is being linked to a project that seems to have a Scientology theme, states Variety. He is reportedly in early talks to join Philip Seymour Hoffman for Paul Thomas Anderson’s film.

The film is reportedly a religious drama sounding a bit like Scientology where Hoffman plays a charismatic leader. Phoenix would allegedly have the role of an alcoholic drifter who then becomes the leader’s right-hand man.

Do you think Joaquin Phoenix will act again?

I and all his joaqaholic fans certainly hope Joaquin gets off his ass and starts acting soon. The sooner the better. I find it intriguing he’s playing in a film regarding a cult and he was in a cult for the first few years of his life. Uncertain if this will be negative or positive for him.
