Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek sneak “Puss” at Cannes
By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: DreamWorks Animation and Paramount Pictures have a strong presence in Cannes at the start of the annual film festival.
Angelina Jolie, Jack Black and Dustin Hoffman are on the ground promoting the anticipated sequel “Kung Fu Panda 2.”
But while the eyes of the media are tuned in, the studios decided to sneak peek another animated feature that will have audiences lining up come November.
Antonio Banderas is bringing his “Shrek” character Puss In Boots off on a solo adventure. The story is rumored to be a prequel, with the events of this film leading up to Puss’s introduction to Shrek and Donkey. Salma Hayek is joining Banderas in the film, playing Kitty Softpaws, and both actors sat atop giant “Boots” props on the waterfront in Cannes today.
Paramount shared a video they shot in Cannes to help promote “Puss In Boots.” We’ve posted it below. In the meantime, the movie will be in theaters on Nov. 4.
