Hollywoodnews.com: Considering the fact that end of the world is rumored to be happening this Saturday, May 21, its seems appropriate for production to begin on the pre-apocalyptic comedy “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.”
Keira Knightley and Steve Carell co-star in writer-director Lorene Scafaria’s piece, which “explores what people will do when humanity’s last days are at hand,” according to a release. Two characters, Dodge (Carell) and Penny (Knightley), bond as the world crumbles around them, giving each a fresh perspective on their pending doom.
The all-star comedy also features Connie Britton, Adam Brody, Rob Corddry, Melinda Dillon, “Community” star Gillian Jacobs, Derek Luke, T.J. Miller, Patton Oswalt and the great Melanie Lynskey. Fantastic ensemble!
Focus Features will distribute the film in the U.S., and is eyeing a 2012 release date.
