Ashton Kutcher is the “Hollywood TV Star of the Week”

By Sean O’Connell When news broke that Ashton Kutcher would be replacing Charlie Sheen on CBS’ “Two and a Half Men,” the news came from Kutcher himself, and he chose to break it on Twitter.

Smart move. The news was going to get out, but Kutcher chose to share it with his 6,775,980 followers. Wow. No wonder CBS wants the one-time star of “The ‘70s Show” on board their rudderless sitcom.

Kutcher Tweeted this photo with the caption “First cast argument 2.5 men.”

Kutcher has been a multi-faceted talent for years, starting in modeling before moving on to TV and, eventually, movies. He’ll return to television in one of the most high-profile sitcoms of the moment, taking over Sheen’s slot on “Men.”

But it’s Kutcher’s work off the screen that also keeps him in the spotlight. His Twitter feed isn’t the stuff of celebrity. It is humanitarian, seeking assistance for less-fortunate citizens around the globe. For his ability to entertain, as well as his desire to give back, we are proud to name Ashton Kutcher, the latest member of “Two and a Half Men,” as our “Hollywood TV Star of the Week.”

Ashton Kutcher may or may not make it. That’s not the point. Sheen almost cost the cast their jobs (& some of them their only method of making a living). Sheen ruined his career; he ALMOST ruined the lives of the “little guys” who don’t have millions to fall back on. To Hell with Charlie Sheen! The toothless, wife-beating, spoiled brat will eventually reap what he has sown….. No sympathy here….And I would bet there are quite a few more who don’t put that jerk on a pedestal.

Why does every reporter in the universe keep referring to Ashton as Charlie;s replacement? He can only be a replacement if he is taking over the role of Charlie Harper. Other than that he is just an actor hired for a newly written, revamped show that happens to go by it’s old name, 2 & 1/2 Men. It will never be the same show without Charlie Sheen.. Will it be a better show? That remains to be seen. I am really amazed at all the hate I read heaped on Charle when pwople refer to his character on the show (I think he is arrogant, he was just nasty talking, he only talked about hooker and drinking and such, ect ,ect) which is really a shame because he after all was atill only acting a part, saying the lines that were written for him, it wasn’t like he adlibbed the entire 8 seasons (by the way, he took the show along way). Now it is a shame that art actually got confused with his own life and yes, most certainly he needs help and I for one hope at some point he realizes this and gets it. Up until that point though, I believe he is honestly trying to struggle through and fight his demons. If you don’t believe that, that is fine, I do. I will not turn into the show with Ahston on it. I loved 2 and 1/2 Men and this new show is certainly not going to be that, it might not even be a close copy. I certainly like Ashton as a person, but, I don’t find him at all funny but still I wish him alll the best. I will always stay a Charlie Sheen supporter though.

Good Im so happy to hear two and a half men is back it’s such a great comedy!
The show success is the contrast beetween the two brothers.
I admit Charlie at first was charming and had good acting skills but later on in the show he lost it. He hardly act at all. Now with the news Ashton will be refreshing.
One question is he taking Charlies character or is it a new caracther?
Any way I’ll be watching it because the show is fun!

I think Ashton Kutcher will be great! He’s a great comedic actor and very professional. He will never bring such personal drama to the show as Charlie Sheen did. Ashton is not replacing Charlie’s character but coming on as a new character. Plus, he’s definitely not hard to look at! I can’t wait to see what he can do!
