Hollywoodnews.com: Can cancer be funny? That’s one question the new dramedy “50/50” will try to answer as Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick, Bryce Dallas Howard and Angelica Huston tackle the life-altering disease in “50/50.”
The film, which recently test screened in New York and Los Angeles to largely positive reactions, follows a young man (Gordon-Levitt) as he copes with the revelation that he has cancer. Rogen plays his best friend, who is helping him move forward and trying to get him to live the rest of his life.
“50/50,” which once was known as “I’m With Cancer,” is based on Will Reiser’s autobiographical memoir. It’s being directed by Jonathan Levine, and released by Summit Entertainment. We have the new trailer below, as well as some stills.
“50/50” will be out in theaters on Sept. 30. Wonder if that means it will be at the Venice and Toronto film festivals, accepted launch pads for the awards season?
