Robert Pattinson passed over for Jeff Buckley role Although Robert Pattinson was interested in a Jeff Buckley role, it seems that he isn’t wanted by everyone.

Pattinson had previously expressed interest in playing Jeff Buckley in the film ‘Greetings From Tim Buckley,’ but ‘Gossip Girl’ star Penn Badgley has snagged the role, states E! News. James Franco, Jared Leto and James Marsden were also rumored to be interested in the role.

However, Badgley will not take the role for granted as he commented on just how excited he is for this part: “To play a man who was singularly gifted as an artist, greatly misunderstood and mythologized as a human being…It’s something very special and sacred. I’m going to give all I can to this project.”

Do you think he was the right choice?

you sound very happy that Rob lost out , but I have to tell you that I think he has no time doing the Movie because he has to promote BD in October /November when they start shooting the JB sorry ms. Molly get your facts straight and Penn didn’t win the JB Role over Rob or Franco..isn’t it funny that all you Journalist only imply Pattinson but not Franco as the guy who lost out. By the way Penn is a terrible Actor, I prefer Leto ..before that dull pretty boy

    Twihards in three, two, one…

But seriously, the producers already stated that the whole Badgley thing isn’t happening so renate was right. I personally would prefer an unknown actor to play the role.
