It doesn’t pay to insult ‘Jersey Shore,’ “The Situation” It looks like ‘Jersey Shore’ has more power than many would have expected as insulting them can really hurt business.

Abercrombie and Fitch recently commented that they were offering money to Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and MTV producers to get them to stop wearing items from the store. However, this apparently didn’t help business as it is reported that the company’s stock dropped 9% after this came out, states TMZ.

While the company claims they made the offer because the cast doesn’t fit with the nature of the brand, there are rumors that the cast never received any offer to stop wearing the clothing and that this was just a publicity stunt.

Do you think the stock dropped because of the insult or is it just the economy right now?
