“Descendants” reactions out of Telluride – AWARDS ALLEY
By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Alexander Payne’s “The Descendants” just had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, and Twitter started churning out responses. As many had hoped, the reactions were extremely favorable, setting up a long awards-season run for this George Clooney vehicle.
“The Descendants is a great vehicle for Clooney to stretch. Ultimately about catharsis and it’s many faces but nevertheless a bit Payne-lite,” Kris Tapley tweeted.
“The descendants is emotionally charged, funny, brilliant ensemble. Clooney great,” tweeted Awards Daily.
“‘The Descendants’ was great. In its honor, I am forcing myself to learn how to spell descendants correctly,” Chris Willman wrote.
There will be more reaction flowing in all weekend. Then the film travels to Toronto, where we expect to increase our coverage of this anticipated film.
