“Carnage” teases with new trailer, clip – AWARDS ALLEY

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Reviews for Roman Polanski’s “Carnage” have been mixed so far, but I’m holding out hope. How could Polanski take a Tony Award-winning play, turn it over to this impressive cast, and come out with a lopsided creation? Some have loved it, but their voices are being drowned out by a pack of loud detractors.

We’ll get to see for ourselves soon enough, as Sony Pictures Classics plans a Dec. 16 release. Ahead of that, the studio has compiled a new U.S. trailer, and followed that up with an exclusive clip. We have both below:

Yeah, I’m ready to see this. Now. Winslet and Foster look like they are feeding off of the tension generated between warring parents. Christoph Waltz elevates scenes with a quiet glance. And John C. Reilly finds yet another avenue for his clueless buffoon persona. I think “Carnage” can play well with an maudience outside of its built-in arthouse base. We’ll see soon enough.
