Updated Academy Award Predictions After ACE Eddie, ADG, Annie, and DGA Results
We’re careening towards the Oscars, ladies and gentlemen. A little over two weeks from now, Academy Award winners will be crowned and we’ll be on to next season. Seems crazy, doesn’t it? Well, with almost every precursor having chimed in by now, that’s where we stand. As such, it’s time for a weekly updated to my predictions. We still have a largely up in the air race for Best Picture, which you’ll see below, and that’s exciting. That’s not the only category, either. For a change, only a select few are wrapped up by now. There’s a genuine sense of uncertainty heading into Oscar night.
What follows is Academy Award predictions that are factoring in a number of the recent precursor results. With DGA backing Alfonso Cuaron and Roma, PGA going for Green Book, and SAG choosing Black Panther, there’s the distinct possibility that those are the three titles that Oscar voters are choosing between. BlacKkklansman or The Favourite has a chance to come up the middle and pull an upset, but they’ll need BAFTA to help out soon. It all remains very much in flux, and that’s a good thing. Embrace the chaos here in 2019, that’s what I say. A little suspense never hurt anyone, right?
